I admire you guys who experienced Brownsville. We are so hungry for revival and is watching and listening to everything we can find about Brownsville. It feels like we are on the edge of revival and it drives me .... to see God come in and take over, do something out of this world etc. We have desperate and lots of prayer for revival as it feels like I cannot wait much longer for something to happen!

Been enjoying reading your blog, especially this post. As a non-religious person, it is s relief to see someone with a more Christian based view having similar thoughts as myself.
It is what I usually call the politico-Christians, who use their religion as the main reason why they want to see certain laws or school curriculums changed, that actually scare many of us. They have a tremendous amount of power and influence while at the same time painting themselves as "under attack". That is a scary combination in any political movement.

It is absolutely amazing to me how the fanatical, Christian, right-wing demographic tries to defend the 'institution' of marriage, treating it as if it were some centuries old, unchanging tradition based solely upon the tenets of their minority religion. Such ignorance.

Ok...so I am going to jump in with my quick comment.

I seem to be somewhere in the middle here. I think that marriage is ONLY between a man and woman purposed to create a family though reproduction. Only a man's sperm and a woman's egg can create a baby.

NOW, while I do not think that gay couples should be given the word "marriage" as they cannot reproduce from the 2 of them together, I do support gay civil unions that are legally recognized with all equal rights as marriage.

Why shouldn't 2 human adults be able to partner with each other legally should they choose. I do not think this is a religious issue to be debated in the courts, but a civil right.

Also, I think it would encourage more normalized behavior between homosexuals and would discourage promiscuity. If they don't even have the option to have a normal relationship it only hurts society as a whole by driving them to the edges of society.

Also, why would you want to prevent them from experiencing the joys of divorce? (just kidding!!!)

AND BY THE WAY---I attended BRSM AND FIRE and just can't wait to see some of those people's fangs come out at me over my NON-DR BROWN approved comments!
